(יג) וַיֹּאמֶר מֹשֶׁה אֶל הָעָם אַל תִּירָאוּ הִתְיַצְבוּ וּרְאוּ אֶת יְשׁוּעַת יְהוָה אֲשֶׁר יַעֲשֶׂה לָכֶם הַיּוֹם כִּי אֲשֶׁר רְאִיתֶם אֶת מִצְרַיִם הַיּוֹם לֹא תֹסִיפוּ לִרְאֹתָם עוֹד עַד עוֹלָם. (יד) יְהוָה יִלָּחֵם לָכֶם וְאַתֶּם תַּחֲרִישׁוּן. (טו) וַיֹּאמֶר יְהוָה אֶל מֹשֶׁה מַה תִּצְעַק אֵלָי דַּבֵּר אֶל בְּנֵי יִשְׂרָאֵל וְיִסָּעוּ. (טז) וְאַתָּה הָרֵם אֶת מַטְּךָ וּנְטֵה אֶת יָדְךָ עַל הַיָּם וּבְקָעֵהוּ וְיָבֹאוּ בְנֵי יִשְׂרָאֵל בְּתוֹךְ הַיָּם בַּיַּבָּשָׁה.
(13) And Moses said unto the people: ‘Fear not, stand still, and see the salvation of the ETERNAL, which God will work for you today; for whereas you have seen the Egyptians today, you shall see them again no more for ever. (14) The ETERNAL will fight for you, and you shall hold your peace.’ (15) And the ETERNAL said unto Moses: ‘Why do you cry unto Me? Speak to the children of Israel, that they go forward. (16) And lift up your rod, and stretch out your hand over the sea, and divide it; and the children of Israel shall go into the midst of the sea on dry ground.
() "מה תצעק אלי" - למדנו שהי' משה עומד ומתפלל אמר לו הקב"ה לא עת עתה להאריך בתפלה שישראל נתונין בצרה.
"Why do you cry out to me? - We are taught that when Moses stood and prayed God said to him: "Now is not the time to engage in prayer while Israel is in danger."
(י) ויבאו בני ישראל בתוך הים ביבשה - אם בים למה ביבשה, ואם ביבשה למה בתוך הים? אלא מכאן אתה למד, שלא נקרע להם הים, עד שבאו לתוכו עד חוטמן, ואחר כך נעשה להם יבשה.
"And the Israelites came into the sea on dry land" - If they came into the sea why mention dry ground, and if they entered on dry ground why mention the sea? In order that you should learn, that the sea was not split for them, until they had entered it up to their noses, and after that it became dry land for them."
