חצף to be insolent, be impudent.
    — Qal - חָצַף was insolent, was impudent.
    — Pu. - חֻצַּף (see מְחֻצָף).
    — Hith. - הִתֽחַצֵּף was insolent, was impudent, he behaved insolently.
    — Hiph. - הֶחֱצִיף 1 he behaved insolently; 2 he provoked insolence. [Aram.-Syr. חֲצַף (= was bold, was impudent), prob. also Arab. ḥaṣufa (= he had sound judgement, was judicious).] Derivatives: חָצוּף, חֻצֽפָּה, חֻצְפָּן, הִתְחַצּֽפוּת, הַחְצָפָה, מְחֻצָּף.
