Rabbi Moshe ben Maimon’s (Rambam) commentary was the first to be written on the entire Mishnah. The commentary was written by Rambam (c.1137 - 1204) in Judeo-Arabic. The Mishnah commentary, Rambam’s first major work, was written from 1166–1168.
