Tractate Moed Katan (“Minor Holiday”) is located in Seder Moed (“the Order of Festivals”). In medieval commentaries, it is often referred to as tractate Mashkin (“Fluids”) for the tractate’s first word. The tractate’s two chapters discuss the laws of Chol Hamoed, or the intermediate days of Passover and Sukkot, with a focus on permitted and prohibited work and the permissibility of mourning on these days.
