These remarkable individuals have each demonstrated a profound commitment to Sefaria, notably assisting the organization in its first year. We are forever grateful to these Pioneers, whose generosity is the very bedrock upon which we have been able to build a vibrant digital future for the Jewish people. הא/נשים הבלתי-רגילים האלו הדגימו מחויבות עצומה לספריא וסייעו לארגון בשנתו הראשונה והקריטית. אנו אסירי תודה על חברותם ותמיכתם של החלוצים הללו, שהן היסוד עליו הצלחנו להקים עתיד דיגיטלי משגשג לעם היהודי.

Phyllis Cook פיליס קוק

Phyllis is Managing Director of PLC Philanthropic Services, working with individuals, families, and nonprofits to achieve their philanthropic objectives. As a board member of the Jim Joseph Foundation, Phyllis championed and fiercely advocated for a 2013 gift to Sefaria that represented a full third of its Year 1 budget. Phyllis’s initial support solidified Sefaria's decade-long partnership with the Jim Joseph Foundation, one of our most generous donors. פיליס היא המנהלת האחראית ב- PLC שירותים פילנתרופיים, תפקיד הכולל עבודה עם יחידים, משפחות ועמותות להשגת מטרותיהם הפילנתרופיות. כחברת הועד המנהל של קרן ג'ים ג'וזף, פיליס הובילה ותמכה במתן מענק נדיב לספריא שהיווה שליש מהתקציב השנתי בשנתנו הראשונה, 2013. התמיכה של פיליס סייעה לנו לחזק את השותפות של ספריא עם קרן ג'ים ג'וזף בעשור האחרון, והובילה לכך שהקרן היא בין התומכים הנדיבים ביותר שלנו.

Felicia Herman פלישיה הרמן

Felicia is Managing Director (North America) of the Maimonides Fund. She was previously the Executive Director of The Natan Fund, which was the very first philanthropic foundation to support Sefaria. Felicia was also one of Sefaria’s earliest board members, serving as a Director for seven years and championing Sefaria’s growth. פלישיה היא המנהלת האחראית (צפון אמריקה) של קרן מיימונידיס. לפני כן, שימשה כמנהלת העל של קרן נתן. פלישיה נפגשה עם מייסדי ספריא באביב 2013, ומיד האמינה ביכולתה של ספריא להוות פרויקט היסטורי עבור העם היהודי. בזכותה, קרן נתן תרמה את תרומת הקרן הראשונה לספריא והמשיכה לתמוך בנו לאורך שנותינו הראשונות. פלישיה היתה אחת החברות הראשונות בועד המנהל שלנו, תפקיד אשר מלאה במשך 8 שנים. היא עזבה רק כאשר הצטרפה לקרן מיימונידיס, שגם היא מבין תומכינו הגדולים ביותר.

Ilan Kaufthal אילן קאופטל

Ilan is Chairman of East Wind and has over 30 years of experience as an investment banker. In the spring of 2013, Ilan introduced Sefaria’s founders to Rabbi Adin Steinsaltz (zt”l); a meeting that led to the creation of the William Davidson Talmud, a historic project that has made the Talmud accessible like never before. Ilan also helped Sefaria’s founders hire its first CEO and negotiate critical library acquisitions. He has been and continues to be an indispensable supporter and adviser. אילן הוא יושב-ראשה של חברת הייעוץ East Wind ובעל ניסיון של למעלה מ-30 שנה כבנקאי השקעות. באביב 2013 אילן הציג את מייסדיי ספריא בפני הרב עדין שטיינזלץ זצ"ל, פגישה שהובילה ליצירת מהדורת ויליאם דוידסון של התלמוד, פרוייקט היסטורי שהפך את התלמוד לנגיש יותר מאי-פעם. אילן אף סייע למייסדי ספריא בבחירת המנכ"ל הראשון של הארגון ובמשא ומתן על רכישות קריטיות של מקורות וטקסטים. הוא היה, וממשיך להיות, תומך ויועץ חיוני לארגון.

Joshua Kushner ג'ושוע קושניר

Joshua is Founder and Managing Partner of Thrive Capital. He is also a co-founder of Oscar, a health-insurance start-up that uses technology, design, and data to help humanize and simplify healthcare. Joshua hosted Sefaria’s launch event in 2013, joined the board as its fifth member, and served as a Director for ten years. Joshua has provided valuable guidance and advice to Sefaria and remains a dedicated supporter. ג'ושוע הוא המייסד ושותף בכיר ב- Thrive Capital ומייסד שותף של חברת Oscar, סטארט-אפ הפועל בתחום ביטוח הבריאות ומשתמש בטכנולוגיה, עיצוב ומידע כדי לשפר ולפשט את שירותי הבריאות בארה״ב. ג'ושוע סיפק הון ראשוני לספריא, אירח את אירוע ההשקה שלנו ב-2013, הצטרף לוועד המנהל כחבר החמישי שלו, ושימש כדירקטור במשך כעשר שנים. ג'ושוע סיפק הדרכה וייעוץ נחוצים לספריא וממשיך להיות תומך נאמן של הארגון.

James Rothschild ג'יימס רוטשילד

James is Co-Founder and Managing Partner of Tru Arrow Partners. He is a Trustee of Yad Hanadiv (the Rothschild Foundation), which continues the tradition of Rothschild family philanthropy in Israel. James and Yad Hanadiv are long-time supporters of Sefaria, notably helping Sefaria to develop a multi-faceted partnership with the National Library of Israel that we hope will continue long into the future. ג'יימס הוא מייסד שותף ושותף בכיר ב- Tru Arrow Partners. בתפקידו כנאמן עבור יד הנדיב (קרן רוטשילד), הוא תומך בפועלה כממשיכת המסורת הפילנתרופית של משפחת רוטשילד בישראל. ג'יימס ויד הנדיב הם תומכים ותיקים של ספריא, ושניהם סייעו לארגון בפיתוח שותפות חשובה ועמוקה עם הספריה הלאומית של ישראל. תקוותנו היא ששותפות זו תמשיך לפרוח עוד שנים רבות. הוא גם הציג את מייסדי ספריא בפני הרב ג'ונתן סאקס זצ"ל.

Ilan & Dana Rubinstein אילן ודנה רובינשטיין

Ilan is a co-founder of Ruby Capital and Ruby Ventures. Dana is a doctoral candidate at the Hebrew University of Jerusalem and a researcher at the Franz Rosenzweig Center. In Sefaria’s early days, Ilan donated office space and even flew to Canada to help Sefaria’s founders secure initial funding. Dana’s help in setting Sefaria up as an Israeli entity has had a tremendous impact on Sefaria’s continued growth. Ilan, Dana, and the broader Rubinstein family sponsored Sefaria’s acquisition of the Nechama Leibowitz Collection and the Responsa of the Chatam Sofer (of whom the Rubinsteins are descendants!). אילן הוא מייסד שותף של Ruby Capital ו- Ruby Ventures. דנה היא מועמדת לדוקטורט באוניברסיטה העברית בירושלים וחוקרת במרכז פרנץ רוזנצוויג. בימים הראשונים של ספריא, אילן סייע לנו בגיוס ההון הראשוני הנחוץ, ואפילו טס לקנדה כדי לעזור למייסדי ספריא להבטיח מימון ראשוני. הוא תרם לספריא את משרדי טרייבקה היפיפיים ששימשו את הארגון בשנים הראשונות של פועלה. כבר מההתחלה, דנה היתה תומכת חשובה של ספריא, חברותא בשאלות של תרגום, ולאחרונה אף עזרה לנו באופן יוצא דופן במאמצינו להקים עמותה רשמית בישראל. אילן, דנה ומשפחת רובינשטיין הרחבה מימנו את רכישת אוסף נחמה ליבוביץ ושו"ת חת"ם סופר (שמשפחת רובינשטיין היא מצאצאיו!).
