(7) In the first month, that is, the month of Nisan, in the twelfth year of King Ahasuerus, pur—which means “the lot”—was cast before Haman concerning every day and every month, [until it fell on] the twelfth month, that is, the month of Adar.
Fun Fact
"Pur" is in the name "Purim" and "Yom Kippur" which is also called "Yom HaKippurim".
The two holidays seem completely opposite and yet, their names sound alike.
Can you think of a hidden connection between Purim and other holidays?
Clue #5
Although God’s name is not written in the megillah, many people see a hint to it. The hidden reference to God is found in one of Mordechai’s messages to Esther in chapter 4. Find the hidden reference. You will have to look very carefully because it is a little tricky. Extra hint: another translation for the Hebrew word is “place”.
