וַיִּשָּׂ֥א הָעָ֛ם אֶת־בְּצֵק֖וֹ טֶ֣רֶם יֶחְמָ֑ץ מִשְׁאֲרֹתָ֛ם צְרֻרֹ֥ת בְּשִׂמְלֹתָ֖ם עַל־שִׁכְמָֽם׃
So the people took their dough before it was leavened, their kneading bowls wrapped in their cloaks upon their shoulders.
לְהַחְמִיץ (שֹׁרֶשׁ ח.מ.צ) --
To become sour, to become leavened (hametz), to miss out (by waiting too long, like you have to wait for bread to rise and, once it rises, you can never go back to matzah)
חֲמוּצִים = Pickles
חֹמֶץ = Vinegar
חָמֵץ = Food prepared from five species of grain–wheat, barley, oats, spelt, and rye–that has been allowed to leaven.
לֶחֶם מַחְמֶצֶת = Sourdough bread
חַמְצָן = (makes things ferment) Oxygen
