Answers:
Aliyah 1
- טֶנֶא (tene) (26:2,4)
- The place where בִּכּוּרִים (bikkurim, first crops) are brought. This ends up being Yerushalayim. (26:2)
Aliyah 2
- The third year (26:12). This refers to the tithe for the poor, known later on as מַעֲשֵׂר עָנִי (maaser ani), and it is given in the third and sixth years of the seven-year shemittah cycle.
- From God’s holy abode, from Heaven (26:15)

- הֶאֱמַרְתָּ (he’emarta) and הֶאֱמִירְךָ (he’emirekha) (26:17,18). These are unusual forms of the verb א.מ.ר. (to say); it is not completely clear what the words mean, but they seem to have to do with declaring someone to be very special.
