Ben Azzai says: “This is the book of the descendants of Adam” – this verse represents the central tenet of the Torah.

Rabbi Akiva says: “You shall love your neighbor as yourself” (Leviticus 19:18) – that verse represents the central tenet of the Torah, [as it teaches] that you should not say: Since I have been disparaged, let someone else be disparaged along with me; since I was cursed, let someone else be cursed along with me. Rabbi Tanḥuma said: If you do act like that, know who it is that you are disgracing: “in the likeness of God did God made him” (Genesis 5:1).

You will find in the collection, "Ein Ya'akov," in the introduction, he says he found another version of this midrash. 

Ben Zoma says: We have found the greatest verse, and it is, “Hear O Israel, the Lord is our God, the Lord is One.”

Ben Nanas says: We have found an even greater verse, and it is, “Love your neighbor as yourself”

Shimon Ben Pazzi says: We have found an even greater verse and it is, “You shall offer the one lamb in the morning, and you shall offer the other lamb at twilight.”

Rabbi Anonymous stood up and said: And we rule like Ben Pazzi, as it is written, “As all that I display to you, the design of the Tabernacle”

(38) Now this is what you shall offer upon the altar: two yearling lambs each day, regularly. (39) You shall offer the one lamb in the morning, and you shall offer the other lamb at twilight. (40) There shall be a tenth of a measure of choice flour with a quarter of a hin of beaten oil mixed in, and a libation of a quarter hin of wine for one lamb; (41) and you shall offer the other lamb at twilight, repeating with it the meal offering of the morning with its libation—an offering by fire for a pleasing odor to ה', (42) a regular burnt offering throughout the generations, at the entrance of the Tent of Meeting before ה'. For there I will meet with you, and there I will speak with you, (43) and there I will meet with the Israelites, and it shall be sanctified by My Presence. (44) I will sanctify the Tent of Meeting and the altar, and I will consecrate Aaron and his sons to serve Me as priests. (45) I will abide among the Israelites, and I will be their God. (46) And they shall know that I ה' am their God, who brought them out from the land of Egypt that I might abide among them—I, their God ה'.
