Al HaNissim ("For the Miracles") is a prayer added to the Amidah (standing prayer) and the Grace After Meals on Purim and Chanukkah. The prayer starts with a line recognizing God's miracles. It continues with unique texts for each of the two holidays, detailing the dangers Jews faced from the decrees of Haman and Antiochus, respectively, and the miraculous deliverances.
