Antigonus of Sokho

Antigonos was the R.nic leader after Shimon HaTzadik. His tenure coincided with the strengthening of Greek cultural influence among the Jews preceding the Hasmonean revolt and the Chanukah story. Some of his students misunderstood his teachings and founded the Sadducee movement.
