(II Sam. 2:25). Rabbi Merinus says that the
alef
in
aguddah
is appended, as
aguddah
comes from the same root as
gedud
(troop). Others say that the
alef
in
aguddah
is a root letter like the
alef
in
afuddato
(skillfully woven) in
and the skillfully woven band
(Ex 28:6).
