Rabbi Ami and Rabbi Asi

R. Ami and R. Asi had studied together in Babylonia before coming to study with R. Yochanan. They excelled and eventually became the leaders of his academy in Tiberias, after R. Elazar b. Pedat. They assisted R. Yehudah Nesi'a II with their scholarship in the administration of the community.
