Pesikta DeRav Kahana (“Sections of Rav Kahana”) is a volume of midrash arranged according to the Torah portions and haftarot read on holidays and special Shabbatot, like the Shabbatot before and after Tisha B’Av. It is a relatively early collection, from the fifth or sixth century in Israel. Though quoted in medieval literature, manuscripts of the text were only discovered and printed in the late 19th century.
