Now that we have learned to chant the Sof-Pasuk clause in Torah Trope, let's practice identifying the clause within an example of Torah, B'reishit 1:1-13. Identify the clauses by first looking for the sof-pasuk symbol, then check to see if it is preceded by either mercha or tipcha. Once you have identified the clause in our example, change the color of the text to pink. Remember, the Sof-Pasuk clause can take place in the following forms:

Thanks, Rachel. It never occured to me until this course to use Sefaria for my cantillation curriculum. I had used it for Religious and Hebrew school, but this will really open up new avenues for curriculum development. I teach cantillation 1 hour a week to my 6th grade, kitah dalet. We are a supplementary Hebrew school program that meets from 9-12:10 on Sundays and 4:15-6:00 on Wednesdays. I teach Torah trope the first half the year and then Haftarah the second half. I have literally created this cantillation curriculum from scratch, as no such curriculum that I am aware of exists for students. I think over the summer I will work on Sefaria to put a majority of my curriculum into sheets, and then I can share it with our entire community. Hopefully this will really help others in Torah and Haftarah study.
