(לד) וַיְכַ֥ס הֶעָנָ֖ן אֶת־אֹ֣הֶל מוֹעֵ֑ד וּכְב֣וֹד יְהֹוָ֔ה מָלֵ֖א אֶת־הַמִּשְׁכָּֽן׃
(33) And he [Moses] set up the enclosure around the Tabernacle and the altar, and put up the screen for the gate of the enclosure. When Moses had finished the work, (34) the cloud covered the Tent of Meeting, and the Presence of יהוה filled the Tabernacle.

(3) R. Jacob the son of Issi asked: Why does it say; I love the habitation of Thy house, and the place where Thy glory dwelleth? (Ps. 26:8) Because the Tabernacle is equal to the creation of the world itself. How is that so? Concerning the first day, it is written: In the beginning God created the heaven and the earth (Gen. 1:1), and it is written elsewhere: Who stretched out the heavens like a curtain (Ps. 104:2), and concerning the Tabernacle it is written: And thou shalt make curtains of goats’ hair (Exod. 26:7). About the second day of creation it states: Let there be a firmament and divide between them, and let it divide the waters from the waters (Gen. 1:6). About the Tabernacle it is written: And the veil shall divide between you (Exod. 26:33). With regard to the third day it states: Let the waters under the heavens be gathered (Gen. 1:9). With reference to the Tabernacle it is written: Thou shalt also make a laver of brass … and thou shalt put water therein (Exod. 30:18). On the fourth day God created light, as is stated: Let there be lights in the firmament of heaven (Gen. 1:14), and concerning the Tabernacle it is said: And thou shalt make a candlestick of pure gold (Exod. 25:31). On the fifth day God created birds, as it is said: Let the waters swarm with swarms of living creatures, and let the fowl fly above the earth (Gen. 1:20), and with reference to the Tabernacle. God directed them to offer sacrifices of lambs and birds, and it says as well: And the cherubim shall spread out their wings on high (Exod. 25:20). On the sixth day God created humanity, as it is said: And God created humanity in God's own image, in the image of God, God created them (Gen. 1:27), and about the Tabernacle it is written: A person who is a high priest who has been anointed to serve and to minister before God. On the seventh day The heaven and the earth were finished (Gen. 2:1), and with regard to the Tabernacle it is written: Thus was completed all the work of the Tabernacle (Exod. 39:32). Concerning the creation of the world it is written: And God blessed (Num. 2:3), and of the Tabernacle it is said: And Moses blessed them (Exod. 39:43... Hence it is said: Eternal, I love the habitation of Thy house, and the place where Thy glory dwelleth (Ps. 26:8).
The very mind-numbing profusion of detail in the Tabernacle descriptions convinced many of our Sages that there must be a deeper, timeless message below the surface. Why else would the Torah give us all this information? And so we find all sorts of allegorical and symbolic interpretations of the Tabernacle minutiae – a vast rabbinic effort to construct meaning, not unlike the labor it took to build the Mishkan itself. Thus, many midrashim view the Mishkan figuratively, as a model of the cosmos, an earthly replica of God’s abode."

What lens brings meaning to these Mishkan construction texts to you?
In the manner I [God] created the world and your body so shall you make the Tabernacle. Whence is this demonstrated? You find that the beams in the Tabernacle were set in sockets, the ribs in the body are set with vertebrae and mountains of the world are set in the earth’s foundations. In the Tabernacle the beams were covered in gold, in the body the ribs are covered with flesh and sinews which are taut and support the body and in the world trees and vegetation are spread throughout. In the Tabernacle the tapestries (יריעות) covered from above and the two sides, skin of the body covers the limbs and both sides of the ribs and the heaven covers both of earth’s sides. In the Tabernacle the partition (פרכת) divided between between the Sanctuary and Holy of Holies, the liver diaphragm separates the heart and the stomach and the sky separates between the waters above and the waters below.
• The Holy Ark, the innermost part, alludes to the human heart, which is the innermost part of the body. The Ark was the main part of the Mishkan because it contained the Tablets of the Covenant. So, too, is the human heart the main part of the body. It is the source of one’s life, knowledge, and understanding.
• The menorah in the Mishkan alludes to the human mind. Just as the menorah gives forth light, so the intellect enlightens the entire body.
• The incense altar alludes to the sense of smell.
• The sacrificial altar alludes to the intestines, which digest the food that enters the body.
• The goats’ wool hangings allude to the skin that covers the human body.

Netivot Shalom asks, “How is this mitzvah [to build the mishkan] eternal?” since it was only something we were commanded to do in that specific time and place. He answers his own question in this way, “Every person is an entire world before G!d, and thus we are commanded to make a mishkan inside of us, in our bodies.
