רֶגַע שֶׁל עִבְרִית A Moment of Hebrew
וְנָ֨שְׂא֜וּ אֶת־יְרִיעֹ֤ת הַמִּשְׁכָּן֙ וְאֶת־אֹ֣הֶל מוֹעֵ֔ד מִכְסֵ֕הוּ וּמִכְסֵ֛ה הַתַּ֥חַשׁ אֲשֶׁר־עָלָ֖יו מִלְמָ֑עְלָה וְאֶ֨ת־מָסַ֔ךְ פֶּ֖תַח אֹ֥הֶל מוֹעֵֽד׃
They shall carry the curtains of the mishkan and the Tent of Meeting—its covering, and the covering of tahash skin that is on top of it, and the screen for the entrance of the Tent of Meeting.
לָשֵׂאת laseit (שֹׁרֶשׁ נ.ש.א)

מִנְשָׂא (minsa) = Baby carrier
מַשָּׂא (massa) = Load, freight, burden
אֳנִיַּת מַשָּׂא (oniyat massa) = Cargo ship
מַשָּׂאִית (massa’it) = Truck
מִתְנַשֵּׂא (mitnasei) =
- Arrogant (someone who sees themself as above others)
- To rise up (like smoke or like a mountain)
Find the Word!
In Parashat Mishpatim, the Torah says that if you see your enemy’s donkey having trouble carrying its heavy burden, you should help. Can you find that mitzvah, which includes this שֹׁרֶשׁ (shoresh, root)? (Hint: See Shemot chapter 23.)
