A Moment of Hebrew
Moshe and the priests from the tribe of Levi spoke to all Israel, saying: Silence! Hear, O Israel! Today you have become the people of God your Lord.
לְהַסְכִּית (lehaskeet) (שֹׁרֶשׁ ס.כ.ת)
- To pay attention or listen closely
מַסְכֵּת (maskeit) = Stethoscope
הֶסְכֵּת (heskeit) = Podcast (this is a new word that was created in 2018!)
Find the Word!
Guess what? You won’t find this שֹׁרֶשׁ (shoresh, root) anywhere else in Tanakh. This is the only place it appears! Pretty cool, right?!
