The Gemara states: Initially, these demons were present every day. Once Agrat, daughter of Maḥalat, met Rabbi Ḥanina ben Dosa and said to him: Had they not announced about you in the Heavens: Be careful of Ḥanina and his Torah, I would have placed you in danger. He said to her: If I am considered important in Heaven, I decree upon you that you should never travel through inhabited places. She said to him: I beg you, leave me a little space. He left for her Shabbat nights and Tuesday nights.

שְׁתַּיִם f. adj. two. [f. of שְׁנַיִם (q.v.). According to the opinion of several scholars שְׁתַּיִם is the abbreviation of אֶשְׁתַּיִם. If it were really so the ‘daghesh’ in the ת of שְׁתַּיִם would be accounted for. I am convinced that שְׁתַּיִם is really the shortened form of אֶשְׁתַּיִם and owes its form to its masculine equivalent שְׁנַיִם. I am of the opinion that אֶשְׁתַּיִם is nothing but the dual form of אֶשְׁתֵּי, עַשְׁתֵּי (= one), related to Akka. ishtēn (= one). אֶשֽׁתַּיִם, as the dual of אֶשְׁתֵּי, accordingly lit. means ‘two ones’ (i.e. ‘one taken twice’). cp. מָאתַיִם (= two hundred), אַלְפַּיִם (= two thousand), etc. For the change of ע to א see the introductory entry to letter א.]

שׁרה ᴵⱽ to maintain, support.
— Hiph. - הִשְׁרָה he caused someone to maintain or support. [Generally considered of uncertain origin. According to my opinion שׁרה ᴵⱽ represents a special sense development of שׁרה ᴵᴵ (= to rest, dwell), hence related to Aram.–Syr. שְׁרָא (= he loosened, untied), whence שְׁרָא צוֹמָא (= he broke a fast), hence ‘he ate, feasted’ (for sense development cp. Eng. to breakfast, properly ‘to break the fast’). JAram. שֵׁירוּי, שֵׁירוּתָא (= meal, feast), Syr. שָׁרוּתָא (of s.m.), also derive from Aram.-Syr. שְׁרָא.]
