חנוכה (שם ל) ארוממך ה - On Ḥanukkah [the psalm is] I will extol Thee, O Lord. Ps. 30.
(א) ואומר עלינו לשבח....
ובכל זמן וזמן משנין המזמור לפי ענינו כגון ברכי נפשי בר"ח, וכאיל תערוג על אפיקי מים בחולו של מועד, ומזמור שיר חנוכת הבית בחנוכה, ובפורים למנצח על אילת השחר. ומנהג טוב הוא
The first code of Jewish law compiled by R.Ya'akov ben Asher, 1270-c.1340, Spain; first to divide a code in to four parts which became the standard format for the later Shulhan Arukh.
(א) מִזְמ֡וֹר [שִׁיר־חֲנֻכַּ֖ת הַבַּ֣יִת] לְדָוִֽד׃
(ב) אֲרוֹמִמְךָ֣ יְ֭הֹוָה כִּ֣י דִלִּיתָ֑נִי וְלֹֽא־שִׂמַּ֖חְתָּ אֹיְבַ֣י לִֽי׃ (ג) יְהֹוָ֥ה אֱלֹהָ֑י שִׁוַּ֥עְתִּי אֵ֝לֶ֗יךָ וַתִּרְפָּאֵֽנִי׃ (ד) יְֽהֹוָ֗ה הֶעֱלִ֣יתָ מִן־שְׁא֣וֹל נַפְשִׁ֑י חִ֝יִּיתַ֗נִי (מיורדי) [מִיׇּֽרְדִי־]בֽוֹר׃

מִזְמוֹר שִׁיר חֲנֻכַּת הַבַּיִת לְדָוִד (תהלים ל, א). וַהֲלֹא שְׁלֹמֹה חֲנָכוֹ, שֶׁנֶּאֱמַר: וַיַּחְנְכוּ אֶת בֵּית ה' הַמֶּלֶךְ וְכָל בְּנֵי יִשְׂרָאֵל (מלכים א ח, סג).
אֶלָּא לְפִי שֶׁנָּתַן דָּוִד נַפְשׁוֹ עָלָיו, נִקְרָא עַל שְׁמוֹ.
(1) And lift thou up thy rod (Exod. 14:16).
(9) This song. Is there only one song? Was it not stated previously that there were ten songs?....
The eighth song is A psalm, a song at the dedication of the house, of David (Ps. 30:1). The fact is that Solomon was the one who dedicated it, as it is said: So the king and all the children of Israel dedicated the house of the Lord (I Kings 8:63). However, because David had set his heart upon dedicating it, the song was ascribed to him.
מזמור, חנוכת הבית - יש אומרים: שצוה דוד שינגנו המשוררים זה המזמור בחנוכת הבית הראשון. ויש אומרים: בחנוכת הבית השני או השלישי, כי דמה ימי הגלות לימי החולי כאשר אפרש. והקרוב אלי: כי זה המזמור חברו בחנוכת ביתו בית ארזים, כי הכתוב לא הזכיר בית השם וכמוהו:....
ויאמר רבי משה: כי דוד התאבל כאשר אמר לו נתן כי הוא לא יבנה הבית לשם. וכאשר אמר לו, כי שלמה בנו יבנה הבית, אז התאזר שמחה תחת אבלו כי בנו כמוהו ולא יחרפהו האויב....
A psalm; a song of dedication of the House – There are those who say that David commanded that the singers play this song at the dedication of the First Temple, and those who say at the dedication of the Second Temple or the Third, because he compared the time of exile to a time of sickness as I will explain.
It seems to me that he composed this song at the dedication of his own house, the House of Cedars, because the psalm does not mention the House of God.
R. Moshe said that David mourned when Natan told him that he would not build the house for the Lord. When he told him that Shlomo his son would build the house he was clothed with joy in place of his mourning because his son was like him, and his enemies could not disparage him....
מזמור שיר חנכת הבית לדוד: חברו דוד שיאמרוהו בחנכת בית המקדש. ואף על פי אין בזה המזמור זכר הבית הזכיר בו סליחת פשעיו, שהיו חושבים איביו שלא תתקים לו המלוכה ולזרעו אחריו לעונש אותו עון. ואף על פי שנאמר לו על ידי נביא, כי בנו שימלוך אחריו הוא יבנה הבית, לא היו מאמינים שיוכל להיות, כי בן שיולד לו מאותה האשה יהיה מלך ויבנה בית המקדש ליי' שיהיה מקום סליחה וכפרה....
וכיון שרצה האל כי בן שנולד לו מאותה האשה יהיה מלך על כל ישראל, ידעו באמת כי נמחל לדוד אותו עון מחילה גמורה ושלמה.
והראה לשלמה צורת הבית לעיני כל ישראל והתנדב הוא לבנין הבית והתנדבו בו בני ישראל לפניו. לפיכך חבר מזמור שיר חנכת הבית על זה הדרך שהזכיר בו סליחת חטאיו שהיא רפואת נפשו, כי בזה הענין נודעה הסליחה לכל אדם.
The various interpretations to relate this psalm to King David and/or the Temple's dedication:
- David so valued the Temple that it was attributed to him, as if he actually constructed it.
- He charged others to recite this dedicatory psalm upon the construction of the Temple.
- He wrote the psalm to commemorate the construction of his own palace.
- David became ill when Nathan informed him that he would not construct God's Temple; he was "healed" when he was informed that his descendent would build the Temple.
- Similar interpretation, with the addition that the succession of son Solomon was God's demonstration that David was forgiven for his sins, and that was an additional cause for his celebration.

PSALM 73
(א) מִזְמ֗וֹר לְאָ֫סָ֥ף אַ֤ךְ ט֖וֹב לְיִשְׂרָאֵ֥ל אֱלֹהִ֗ים לְבָרֵ֥י לֵבָֽב׃ (ב) וַאֲנִ֗י כִּ֭מְעַט (נטוי) [נָטָ֣יוּ] רַגְלָ֑י כְּ֝אַ֗יִן (שפכה) [שֻׁפְּכ֥וּ] אֲשֻׁרָֽי׃
(17) May his name be eternal;
while the sun lasts, may his name endure;
let men invoke his blessedness upon themselves; let all nations count him happy.
(18) Blessed is the LORD God, God of Israel, who alone does wondrous things;
(19) Blessed is His glorious name forever;
His glory fills the whole world.
