Blessed are You, Yah Our Divine, Spirit of the World, who made us holy through Her commandments, and commanded us to light the shabbat candles.

We Are Twilight People
By Rabbi Reuben Zellman
As the sun sinks and the colors of the day turn, we offer a blessing for the twilight, for twilight is neither day nor night, but in-between.
We are all twilight people.
We can never be fully labeled or defined.
We are many identities and loves, many genders and none.
We are in between roles, at the intersection of histories, or between place and place.
We are crisscrossed paths of memory and destination, streaks of light and swirled together.
We are neither day nor night.
We are both, neither, and all.
May the sacred in-between of this evening suspend our certainties, soften our judgments, and widen our vision.
May this in-between light illuminate our way to the Divine who transcends all categories and definitions.
May the in-between people who have come to pray be lifted up into this twilight.
We cannot always define; we can always say a blessing. Blessed are You, Source of all, who brings on the twilight.

לְכָה דוֹדִי לִקְרַאת כַּלָּה. פְּנֵי שַׁבָּת נְקַבְּלָה:

Wake, my beloved,

Awake and arise.

You cause me to breathe deeply,

My pulse quickens when you are near.

You are a bridge across the ages,

Extending beyond all time.

A stirring of emotion overwhelms.

From the secrets of your soul,

To the scars your heart hides,

You are a part of me which cannot be disguised.

In the land of our forebears,

You arrived as a beacon.

Without you, I am lost,

Without me, your purpose fades.

You are love,

As I am love,

We are two of a kind.

You are loved,

As I am loved,

Each a gift, the other will find.

As one, we endure,

And as one we survive.

As one, we awaken,

And as one we arise.

As one, we are God Wrestlers,

And as one we are alive.

For the sake of the unification of the Holy One, blessed be He, and Their divine Feminine presence, with fear and love, behold I am prepared and ready to fulfill the positive commandment to sanctify [Shabbat] over wine, as it is written, "Remember and guard — remember it over wine."
And evening came, then morning came:
The sixth day!
And the heavens and the earth were completed, and all their hosts. And Hashem completed, by the seventh day, Their work which He had done; and They abstained on the seventh day from all Their work which They had done. And Hashem blessed the seventh day and sanctified it, for on it They abstained from all Their work which Hashem had created to do.
Attention! Lchaim!!!
Blessed are you Shekinah our Divine, Spirit of the universe who creates the fruit of the vine.
Blessed are You, our Divine, Spirit of the universe, Who sanctified us with Their commandments and was pleased with us. And They gave us Their holy Sabbath, with love and pleasure, as a heritage, a commemoration of the work of creation. (For this day is) the first of the days of holy convocations commemorating the exodus from Egypt. (For You have chosen us, and You have sanctified us amongst all the peoples.) And You gave us Your holy Sabbath, with love and pleasure, as a heritage. Blessed are You, Divine, Sanctifier of the Sabbath.
