Prayer in the Parashah תְּפִלָּה
Emor teaches us about all the major holidays in the time of the Torah. In our Mussaf prayers on these holidays, and also when we say Kiddush on these holidays, we call each holiday by its name in the Torah, followed by a short description:
- Look it up! Which of these short descriptions come from our parashah?
- If you had to pick one main theme for each holiday, would you choose the one listed? Something else? Why?
- Do you notice that the descriptions of Rosh Hashanah and Yom Kippur don’t follow the same pattern as all the rest of the holidays on the list? Can you explain this difference?
