About This Text
Author: Nathan Nota Spira
Megalleh Amukkot (“Revealer of Depths”) is a 16th-century Torah commentary by the kabbalist Rabbi Natan Nota Spira, who also wrote a work by the same name that contains 252 explanations of Moses’ prayer to enter the land of Israel. Rabbi Spira is known for his interest in gematria (interpretation based on the numerical value of Hebrew letters and words), and played a vital role in the proliferation of kabbalistic teachings in Poland.
